What or who was your motivation to become a PGA Professional? Working as the Head Tennis Professional at Riviera Country Club, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to play the course weekly and absolutely fell in love with the game. After a career ending injury, I moved to Santa Fe where I started working at Marty Sanchez for “free golf” and decided that I wanted to pursue a career in golf. Thanks to Steve Moreno, I got real lucky and passed the PAT the first time.
What is your specialty in the golf business? Customer Service and Merchandising. It just doesn’t take much to make people feel welcome and respected, and I pride myself in offering the most welcoming and informative environment for new and experienced golfers. I have also had great success in creating successful golf shops both aesthetically and financially.
What was your greatest moment in golf? Playing Cypress Point with my first tennis instructor, Eddie Kolsky. I remember tears rolling down my face on walking down the second fairway. And, I hit the green on 16 (with a driver).
What do you enjoy when not playing golf? Binge watching Netflix, crossword puzzles, watching Chopped and hanging out with my kitties.
If you could play any golf course in the world, which one would it be and who would complete your foursome? Augusta National with Robin Williams, Laura Davies, and Barack Obama
What is your favorite golf instruction tip? 1. To never listen to your husband’s golf tips. 2. Treat golf publications like pornography, look at the pictures but ignore the articles.
What is your career low round? The number 6 has never started any of my completed rounds…
Tell us something about yourself that not many people know. I had the opportunity to play tennis professionally achieving a top 100 ranking playing Wimbledon, US Open and Australian Open. And… I have a movie credit, rent the first Total Recall and you will see my 5 seconds of fame.
